First established in 1946, CTIF became an Industrial Technical Centre through the passing of the law dated 22nd July 1948.
Its management board consists of 17 members including heads of companies: foundries, users, universities or scientific personalities, as well as technical personnel representatives of the profession appointed by decree of the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industry.
Its Managing Director, Jean-Louis FOURET, together with the Management Committee and a consulting Technical and Scientific Committee consisting of industrialists and university dons, provide its management.
To fulfil its missions, CTIF receives a subsidy from the French Ministry for Industry and generates its own operating resources by selling its services.
